XtoCC App Reviews

Lots of recent updates, much more reliable

I’m working on a television show, primarily using Adobe’s creative cloud. Some of our footage from outside is put in an offline edit by other editors using FCPX though. I purchased FCP X to have it handy for times like this, but I had no way to get their work into Premiere Pro for my final edit. They gave me their libraries, and now all I have to do is open it up in FCP X, select the events I want, and export an XML to use in Xto7. From there, I just convert it to a good ol’ fashioned FCP7 XML and import it directly for use in premiere (with the appropriate footage folder from the FCP X library). There have been a ton of updates recently in Xto7, and it has been working just fine. The only quirk I’ve had to deal with is sometimes crossfades don’t port over just right…but that’s an easy fix. Don’t expect for everything to be 100% perfect out of the box in every sequence, but it gives you a huge head start and will put everything where you need it on the timeline.

Not ready for real world applications

Being able to export to FCP7 (and from there to any online environment) is crucial. Sadly, this utility is too buggy to be used in a professional environment. Many clips do not export, export with wrong timing, or export truncated. It’s a mess.

Great App

I was working on a project with an editor who was using FCPX and I needed to get the project into Premiere. I tried the method of going to Resolve but I just couldn’t get it to work for the love of all things good. Came across a post on creative cow after much research and bought it keeping my fingers crossed that it would work. And work it did. Xml from FCPx to XtoCC then import into FCP7 and then Xml to Premiere. BOOM!!! Thank you very much.

Worked for Us

Just took a FCPX XML and used this program to convert it for Premiere and so far everything seemed to work great! It was a simple edit, but right now we just want to get client projects out of FCPX.

WASTE OF MONEY

This app will convert your FCPXxml into a .xml yes. But, when you try to import it into CC it will not work. There is no support either. Im contacting my lawyer. I want my $50 back!
